Match Report:

Another game where we didn't have the fitness to run with the opposition for the entire game.   A very good opposition though, and even at the same level of fitness, we may have struggled.  Hope Valley B Grade have not suffered too many defeats in the past 3 or 4 seasons and their display confirms they are a good unit.

With gale force winds partly across the ground, but favouring the eastern end, we kicked into it in the first quarter.  We were competitive and while Valleys were super accurate in the conditions, we were in attack often enough to give supporters some confidence of doing well.

The second quarter brought home the truth.  With the breeze we could only muster two goals, while Valleys went forward, with their accuracy still very good, registering three straight.  At half time we were trailing 2.1 to 9.0.  In the conditions 9 straight goals was outstanding accuracy.

After the half time break, and into the wind, one wonders what was said at half time.  Dave Cicowski added 3 and we outscored Valleys, where their accuracy finally went astray in registering 2.5.  A win for a Ronnie rev-up.  At three quarter time we were 7 goals adrift and running out of huff and puff.

The final quarter had us chasing and while we added 2, Valleys eased out to a good win with 3 goals.

Best:  1.  Mark Baryczka at the ball, a workhorse player, who gathers possessions all game.  2.  Robbie Cains floating around the centre and moving forward, constructive and a couple of goals.  3.  Tim Morris, also gives his all, all game.  Gets the hard ball and puts us into attack.  4.  Dave McDonald keeps on keeping on.  Went on the ball and our prospects went up.  5.  David Cicowski slotted 5 of 7 and if we get it to him he will kick the goals.  Others to come under notice included Joe Anesbury,  Adrian Burness, Aaron Rowen, Andrew Jones,  Brett Kelly, and Josh Maas.  Daniel Reardon, in his second senior game for the Club, brought up the 101st game for the Reardon Family!
