Match Report:
The B Grade got off to a good start. We looked the goods with Joel Pettersson and Brent Jones on fire in the first. Rhino Medhurst giving plenty out of the centre and Lance Billett, Jamie Corrie and Charlie Van Dam were very active. However, in the second quarter everything stopped. One bad quarter cost us plenty. Hectorville rattled on 6.6. to our solitary goal. So, at half time we were behind – but not that far out of it. We did respond in the second half but could not bridge the gap. Play of the Day to Brad Moyle – who, it is important to realise, tossed the coin and selected ends – then in the third quarter on the Chad Street wing, grabbed the ball, a bounce or two, and a long kick, covered in total 80 to 90 metres, only to find he was going the wrong way. No wonder the opposition didn’t tackle!
Best: 1. Joel Pettersson, back from the A’s and looked very good – ball magnet all day. 2. Ryan Medhurst out of the centre, like Joel, put us in many times. 3. Lance Billett running into a bit of form after a delayed start due to injuries, very good in the air. 4. Charlie Van Dam ran hard all game. Many possessions. 5. Jamie Corrie, particularly at full back contested and made the ball the object. Others to do well included Tony Howard, Mat Kooyman and Josh Maas got better as the game progressed.
