Match Report:
This match was a turnaround of about 20 goals from the first occasion when we met Hope Valley. We were short of players the first time around, and this time, we gave a much better account of ourselves.
We opened with Dave McDonald a target at full forward and with Grant Hure dominating the ruck, Shane Hollitt, in his 150th, really shone. A little ray of sunshine. Well not really but he did put in and we looked very good. Taz McAllister was very active too. All in all we looked much better.
The second quarter and we did chase a bit. Hope Valley got into gear and we chased. At half time the gap was not that great, however Hope Valley had been very inaccurate.
The third quarter saw a very good exhibition by first game player in Gill. He stepped up and really looked the goods.
The final quarter and we slotted 3.2 to Hope Valley's 3.6. It was a good effort with Dave McDonald excelling with two good goals.
In all we looked a lot better, but beaten by a good B Grade side.
Best: 1. Tarryn McAllister was good all day. A lot of possessions. 2. Ashley Anspach ran and took a couple of gutsy marks. Is developing to a consistent wingman. 3. Kym Rasheed was very active and slotted a couple. 4. Grant Hure dominates the ruck and gives his all. 5. Shane Hollitt continues to dazzle.
