Match Report:
We met the top team in D5R. Last time our encounter had us going down by a whopping 175 points – that is 26.19 to nil! This time around we gave a good account. They were too good, but our efforts were notable too. We took some time to get on the scoreboard but in general play we were always there. Bruno was outstanding. Perhaps with another Bruno we would have gone close to winning his game was that good. But in the end it was a large loss, a numerical thing that did not reflect on our endeavours as it should have.
Best: 1. James O’Loughlin in a standout performance where he performed duties on all parts of the ground and in roles. Ruck rover back lines and forwards. An outstanding performance. 2. Michael Gill just getting back into football but quickly finding his form. 3. Rhett Quinlivan continues a good season. 4. Scott Corrie had a battle royal against the tide but well played. 5. Daniel Reardon added class in his game in the centre and slotted a very good running goal. Others to do well included evergreens in Grant Hure and Peter Tozer while Peter Edwards played his first game. Kym Rasheed was also very active. Goals: Scott Fisher, Dave McDonald, Peter Tozer, and Daniel Reardon – all one.
