Match Report:

A great win.  Only the bare number of players - 18 - to have all positions covered.  No reserves and no rest for any of those involved.  Robbie Brauer played.  He ran and ran.  He gathered possessions like there was no tomorrow.  Bringing his own ball may have helped but he did give a display of run-on football.  Attacking pressure for the entire game.  A great effort.  He was well supported by all his team mates.  A win away and at Smithfield - one to savour.

We opened into the wind - 3 or 4 goals early.  We came to play with Grant Hure standing tall in ruck, Brauer everywhere and Rhett Quinlivan going well.  Frank Carbone straightens us up with his presence at full forward.  Barry Uzzell in his 249th for Rosewater directed our attacks.  With Brad Kavanagh running we did establish a good lead - and into the wind.  The second quarter was a good one.  But not the flood gate opening one that may have occurred.  Tarren McAllister was on target and Frank slotted a further two.

The third quarter and we were tiring.  Smithfield dominated scoring 4.4 to our 1.4.  Kelton Young kept us in front with a terrific game in defence.  And Ashley Anspach was also very committed and did the team spoils and took a grab in the pack that was a delight to see!

The final quarter opened with two goals to Smithfield.  Were we to be pipped on the post?  Brauer stepped up - well ran up and righted things with a pass to Carbone - and his fourth.  We then ran on and with two goals to Jessie Kavanaghs, the game was ours.

Best:  1.  Robbie Brauer  2.  Kelton Young  3.  Ashley Anspach   4.  Barry Uzzell  5.  Grant Hure.

McAllister was very good too.  As were the Kavanagh's, Brad and Jessie, John Murray and Pee Wee was hard at it as always.  Rhett Quinlivan was good off the half back.  Frank Carbone slotted 4.  In all a good win!
