Match Report:
Barry Uzzell fronted for his 250th senior game for Rosewater. He gave a display of how things are done. Mesmerized the opposition. So much so that in front of the Clubrooms in a pack situation he baulked side to side, twisted, back turned, never moving out of a two metre circle with his opponent falling over, onto his back, and just lay there! Uzzell hadn't touched him and he hadn't a chance of touching Uzzell, just defeated by dazzle! Two minutes later, in almost the same spot, another turn, a bit of ballet, and from a very acute angle, well out, split the centre! Bustling Barry the Bulldog ballet boy!
The game opened and we were competitive in the first quarter - we won the toss and kicked with the wind. Our second quarter was quite good too. We didn't score but kept AL to two majors and a string of points. Another couple of goals in the third, but we were tiring and AL ran away with the match.
Best: 1. Uzzell a dazzling display 2. Grant Hure in great form in ruck and marking around the ground. 3. Rhett Quinlivan continues to run and may end up in the A's for their finals campaign. 4. Peter Edwards again a hard at it display. 5. Kym Rasheed took out the goal kicking - with a challenging Dave McDonald doing his best to upset Rash. (McDonald finished one goal adrift - but you would have to say it was one of the lowest totals of goals ever to win - only 10).
Others to do well include Miles DeBlasio, John Murray, Kelton Young and Kooyman.
So ends a disappointing season.
