History:

Ken played League Football with Port Adelaide when about 18.  His employment took him to the country (Yorke Peninsual) at times during the week.  This upset Fos Williams who wouldn't pick him if he didn't train with the team.  He would train with the local country team when away. So he joined Rosewater.

He was a very good half back (in fact a very fine player) who always arrived at the ground with his leather kit bag and cigarette in hand.  Married to Vonny they lived in Portland and he would often walk to Rosewater on match day as a warm up and Vonny would drive the car there later. He played in the 1957 A1 Premiership side.

His wife Vonny died a couple of years ago in Darwin and his daughter Leeanne (whom I think still lives in Darwin) had a memorial service for her in the old RFC clubrooms.  Unfortunately not many of his old team mates could come as Leeanne forgot it was Fathers' Day.  Ken died a couple of years before Vonny.
