History:

Russell Ware came to Rosewater from country Victoria when he moved to Alberton (for a four year time frame).  It was soon evident Rusty was a player and person at the top of the class.  In his short time with the Bulldogs he assumed the No 1 Ruck role and had the distinction of rarely, if ever, lowering his colours.  A good mark he regularly "floated" into defence and stymied many opposition attacks.  His performance at goal kicking perhaps reflected his preference for defence - but he could generally be relied upon when within the goal square.  During his time at Rosewater he was consistently in the top performers in both the Club Voting and that of the umpires.  He was identified early as being a leader and was Club Captain and Club Best and Fairest.  Off the field he was a very popular person and a great club man.

His return to Victoria will see him missed at Rosewater - and he will be hard to replace - both on and off the field.

The Rosewater Football club wishes Rusty well on his return home - and the welcome mat is always out!
